The Austin A40 was Britain's postwar vehicle that helped them to get back on sound financial footing. Most of the vehicles were sold in North America like this 1949 1/4 ton pickup. It is left hand drive and has been carefully restored by a vintage racer to a high standard. There was a note in the glove box of an oil change in 2020 at 37,340 miles. The odometer reads today at 37, 382 miles at the time of consignment. This vehicle has not been worn out. All the mechanical and cosmetic needs are done to an extremely high standard. The wiring has the original loom around it and even the tires were sourced from Zimbabwe to get the proper size. The instruments are working, even the trafficators and the owner also put North American style turn signals in place. These vehicles are not very fast but provide a big smile whenever you see one.
