INTERESTING / IMPORTANT VEHICLE HISTORY AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:
History: This left-hand drive Jaguar was manufactured on the 15 of March 1956 and delivered to Budd and Dyer, the Canadian distributor in Montreal. . Provenance: The early ownership is obscure but a West Coast decal on the windshield suggests that the early years were spent in British Columbia. The car was in Edmonton in 1982 and sold by Crosstown Motors to Canberra Land Developments for $7500 with 94,718 miles on the odometer. Peter Dramchuk PhD bought it on July 29, 1983 for $9000 with the intention to restore it. He put it in his garage and when health problems intervened it sat without being started for forty years. Dr Dramchuk died in May 2019 and his two children inherited the car. The job of getting it running was taken on by Miles Import Car Repair in Edmonton. Work in this Ownership: a) Head removed and a burnt valve found on cylinder four. The head was refurbished with new exhaust valves/guides and resurfaced. b) Sump removed and old oil cleaned out. c) All new gaskets and hoses. d) Many of the original hose clamps and B-nuts were re-used .e) New leather interior in the correct red colour including carpets and trunk mat. f) Instrument repair (all working except the clock)g) Windshield wiper motor repair. h) Front disc brakes were added with all the old drum brake parts going with the car. i) The Pirelli Cinturato tires are old and should be replaced.
ANY ADDITIONAL PARTS, ACCESSORIES OR DOCUMENTS TO BE INCLUDED WITH SALE:What does the M mean in XK140?North American cars were more deluxe than those sold in the UK. The deluxe features included: wire wheels, dual exhaust, fog lamps, windshield washers, no rear wheel spats, deluxe trim in the trunk, spare wheel bracket modified for the wire wheels and special front brake drums to clear the wire wheels. Included in the sale is the original jack, grease gun, knock off hammer and a T handle. This car has never been restored and as such is a true survivor. It was painted some forty years ago and still looks quite acceptable. This car runs beautifully, stops well and will keep up with today’s cars on the highway.
