Description

OPTIONS / NOTABLE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT / MODIFICATIONS FROM ORIGINAL:

The chassis and fibreglass body on this 1937 Ford cabriolet were fabricated by Downes Manufacturing. The perimeter chassis incorporates full box rails to accommodate Corvette C4 front and rear independent suspension. The entire chassis is painted the same colour as the body, clear coated and polished to the same standard as the body. It has custom fabricated front and rear sway bars. The 12 inch Corvette polished brakes have SSB grooved rotors. The lines for brakes, gas, AC and heater hoses and the gas tank are stainless steel. The wheels are American Torque Thrust 1:7x17 on the front and 8x18 on the rear, supporting Goodyear Eagle F1 tires (215/45 ZR 17 front and 235/50 ZR 18 rear). The car is powered by a Camaro LS1 engine enhanced with a Magnuson supercharger and modified heads, a custom built air intake system, custom pulley brackets and serpentine belt system. It has an American Highway 22 engine management system. Power is transmitted through a Borg Warner T56 six speed standard transmission, and 3:73 posi-traction gears in the Corvette differential. The Dino reading at the rear wheels was 395 h.p. and 415 ft lbs of torque. The aluminum power train and suspension system have been completely hand polished to yield a Chrome like appearance. The interior features include Infinity eight way power seats, IDIDIT polished, aluminum tilt/telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, VDO instrumentation and Vintage Air Compac II A/C, heat and defrost. There is a Dakota Digital 10 channel remote control system for operating the electric power doors, hood, and rumble seat. It is equipped with a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/DVD entertainment system with Alpine amp and 8 speakers. The entire interior, including the rumble seat,, is trimmed with champagne coloured leather and matching carpet and floor mats. The convertible top contains a heated Corvette rear window for enhanced visibility. The supports for the top are chrome plated with the rear bow enhanced with wood trim. Safety features include daytime driving lights, back up lights, outside rearview mirrors with signal indicators, Specialty windshield washers and wipers and seatbelts( three point belts in front and lap belts in the rumble seat).

INTERESTING / IMPORTANT VEHICLE HISTORY AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

This Ford Cabriolet Street rod was constructed over a five-year period and involved approximately 6000 hours build time, primarily by the owner. No detail was overlooked and no expense spared on the project. It is still owned by the family of the original owner, and has always been stored in a heated covered garage. In the Calgary World of Wheels, the car won best in class, outstanding custom rod, outstanding undercarriage, outstanding paint, outstanding display, and was in the top six finalists for the Six Shooter Jim Leslie Memorial award. At the Good Guys in Spokane, it won an award of excellence the same year and it was also featured in the Good Guys Del Mar Nationals with a display of excellence. It won best engine in the Rod Run in Pinehurst, Idaho. Complimenting the right side of the dash is a subtle painted image of an abandoned 1937 Ford, discovered by a hot rodder! THIS VEHICLE MAY NOT BE ADMISSABLE FOR EXPORT TO THE U.S OR OTHERWISE BASED ON ITS DESIGNATED VIN.

ANY ADDITIONAL PARTS, ACCESSORIES OR DOCUMENTS TO BE INCLUDED WITH SALE:

It has a two piece, fibreglass tonneau cover, used when the roof is retracted. It is covered with the same leather as the interior. There is also a custom made fabric car cover and a storage bag in champagne leather. THIS VEHICLE MAY NOT BE ADMISSABLE FOR EXPORT TO THE U.S OR OTHERWISE BASED ON ITS DESIGNATED VIN.
