INTERESTING / IMPORTANT VEHICLE HISTORY AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

Imperial elevated from Chrysler Corporation in 1955 on its ambitious $100MM 'Forward Look' range of premium automobiles. Built in its dedicated assembly plant, Imperial was built to a higher quality standard and incorporated many Imperial-only parts. This example is a later year production in Shantung Green, the chosen colour for marketing the Forward Look Imperials. This Imperial C69 was sold in San Francisco and travelled the western US before it was imported to Canada in 2008 and now has Alberta registration. The 250 mph, 331 HEMI V8 moves power through a two speed PowerFlite transmission and the vehicle manages freeway speeds with ease. Shifts are smooth and the vehicle pulls smoothly if not aggressively. The power drum brakes require an easing in when cold but react well. Power steering is a welcome addition and the car features power windows and power front seats, all working well. the AM radio functions well as does the heater and fan and the wipers; An original washer water bag is preserved. The ball joint front drive shaft has been replaced by a more reliable 'u' joint and the shaft balanced. New shocks and a new exhaust system improve ride quality with conventional coil and leaf springs and correct vintage mufflers. The paint preserves its lustre and the chrome and bright work show only minor imperfections. The broadcloth seating shows some wear on the seat top shoulder but the seats have been re stuffed and the springs retooled. A G. Goers trunk is fully detailed and the engine bay was fully detailed and painted at the restoration and now shows only minor deterioration from regular outings. The vehicle is stored in a temperature controlled environment and is driven only in the best of weather.
